ABOUT THE CORNERSTONE

The largest state licensed and certified, social model, detox and residential treatment center in Northern California, The Cornerstone offers proven programs, ranging from a minimum one month up to one year, for men and women wanting to be free from alcohol and other substance abuse problems. The Cornerstone operates separate facilities with the men's program located in Shasta Lake City and the women's in north Redding.

Residents are offered over thirty hours per week of intensive activities, including  process groups, educational workshops, as well as individual counseling sessions, in a  home-style family environment. Through peer support, peer pressure, and an individual's hard work,  self-esteem is elevated,  honesty is built, and growth in recovery is promoted.  Residents each work through the Phase Recovery Program™ workbooks and explore at least the first three steps of either the Alcoholics Anonymous or the Rapha Biblically-based 12-step program. Additionally, The Cornerstone offers a strong Christian component for those who wish to participate.

In the nearly a decade since The Cornerstone Recovery Systems Inc. came into existence, The Cornerstone has graduated individuals who have achieved a better than average recovery success rate. In addition to remaining clean and sober, many graduates have progressed to positions in life that have exceeded their own expectations. Many graduates have distinguished themselves in the work force while others have advanced themselves by continuing their educational pursuits.

The Cornerstone Men's Program is situated on a four acre landscaped property in the City of Shasta Lake, six miles north of Redding and five miles from Lake Shasta. The Cornerstone Women's Program is located in a rural setting on six acres in north Redding which is also near Lake Shasta. Both facilities have large, comfortable accommodations with manicured lawns that provides the feeling of a large home with family members assisting each other towards one goal: graduation to a clean and sober, functional and reasonably happy lifestyle.
