ADMISSION CRITERIA

Acceptance into The Cornerstone’s recovery program is available for anyone who seriously wants to remain clean, sober, functionally happy, and productive for the rest of his or her life. If an applicant is at the point in his or her life where he or she recognizes that their past life styles, behaviors and attitudes have not been working and is willing to do whatever it takes to make a complete change, The Cornerstone believes that they should have that opportunity.

Often individuals seeking treatment have come from extremely dysfunctional family backgrounds. Most entrants to The Cornerstone have used drugs and/or alcohol for at least eight years. Many applicants have previously had some form of treatment experience such as AA/NA meetings, outpatient programs and/or residential programs. However, it is difficult to predict who will be successful in the program and who will not. The primary factor in an individual's success is how seriously he or she wants their recovery.

An applicant must:

  • be 18 years old or older;

  • not be on any psychotropic (mood altering) medications or dosage levels that would hinder participation in the program (see Med Policy);

  • not have any jail and/or prison time to be served while in the program or after successfully graduating from the program;

  • if an applicant is currently having legal difficulties that might require incarceration, he or she must be referred to the program by an attorney, probation officer, or parole officer.

  • have continued funding guaranteed along with the first month's cost of program available prior to entrance.

A representative from the program would be available to arrange an on-site meeting in person or to answer any questions over the phone  about The Cornerstone. (See Contact Us)

Anyone who is interested in using the program as a referral option is invited to tour the facility. Please call for an appointment. (See Contact Us)

IMPORTANT NOTE: In order for The Cornerstone to discuss financing or any other aspects of entrance into The Cornerstone program with a third party, it is necessary for the prospective client to provide us with a signed Consent for Release of Confidential Information form. A separate form must be completed, signed, and witnessed for each individual the prospective client would like us to communicate with. You can access a copy of this form by clicking here and then printing as many copies as you will need. After we receive it, either by mail or fax (See Contact Us), we will be able to discuss your situation with the third party. Unless you provide us with the third party's phone number, they will need to call us. Remember, The Cornerstone must have a separate Consent for each individual or agency you would like us to communicate with.
