Church Attendance Guidelines

The following is a summary of the guidelines that govern the conduct of
The Cornerstone clients while attending church. The Cornerstone requests that visiting family
members support their loved ones in following these guidelines by reading through them
before going on to the map & directions link at bottom of this page

Why The Cornerstone Goes to Church:

It is an opportunity for those desiring it to participate in corporate
worship and to hear the preaching of God's Word.

Because the church is a public place and immediate family* (see
below) are welcome to attend, there may be an opportunity for limited
physical contact between client and immediate family members*.

Who is an immediate family member*?

Immediate family* is defined as:

 For the unmarried:

1. mother/father;

2.  sister(s)/brother(s);

3.  adult children; and/or small children accompanied by
            another immediate family member.

For the legally married:

1. mother/father;

2.  sister(s)/brother(s);

3.  wife/husband;

4.  adult children; and/or small children accompanied by
            another immediate family member.

*NOTE: The immediate family member restriction only applies to clients while on blackout.

The Guidelines

1. Cornerstone clients enter the church together and are seated together
as directed by the supervising tech.

2. If a client recognizes that an immediate family member* is
also in attendance, the client informs the supervising tech who may
then release the client to sit with the family member.

3.   Clients are not to pass notes with family members or others with
 whom they may sit and may not receive
packages or letters from
family members or others. Family members or others may arrange to
drop off packages or letters for clients at The Cornerstone
 Administrative office before or after services by calling 530 275-5622
during regular business hours, Monday thru Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.

4. Clients are expected to behave appropriately at all times while the
service is being conducted.  This means no talking or other activity
that may be distracting to others. In the event a young child needs to
use the bathroom, a family member other than the client, who is to
remain in view of the supervising tech, should accompany the child (as
would be done if the client were not present).

5. At the conclusion of the service, clients are to return to the group and
remain in the church until the supervising tech indicates that he or she
is leaving.

*NOTE: The immediate family member restriction only applies to clients while on blackout.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Cornerstone’s clients who consistently have difficulty
in showing consideration for others by behaving appropriately during service,
may be required to make other arrangements for attending religious services or,
if on blackout, may have to content themselves with an on-site visit from a bona
fide spiritual advisor.
Please
support your loved ones in following
