OUR
MISSION STATEMENT
The
Cornerstone believes God designed each of us to be a unique and
precious human
being with a plan for a healthy, fulfilling, and productive
life. Human beings
were not created to be the drug and/or alcohol
abusers that dysfunctional family
and/or societal backgrounds have
contributed to producing.
The
Cornerstone’s goal is to restore to each of its residents this
God-given
birthright. Using proven therapeutic drug and alcohol
counseling methods, The
Cornerstone Recovery Programs are designed
to provide a peaceful, faith-based,
family environment offering an
intensive residential recovery program for adult
men and women. In The
Cornerstone’s social model treatment program, residents are not seen
as “a
part of” or “a member of” a program, rather they are the program.
The
Cornerstone is committed to providing a safe and structured
environment where
residents have the opportunity to discover their
God-given identity. Here they
can learn the skills needed to create and
live out an individualized plan for a
healthy, functional lifestyle reflective of
their uniqueness.
The
goal of The Cornerstone is to graduate residents who have:
LEARNED
to recognize the preciousness and
value of who they are (become self-esteeming);
DEVELOPED
the ability to set and maintain
functional boundaries (become self-respecting);
GROWN
to be inter-dependent with the ability to
get their needs and wants met in
healthy ways
(become self-nurturing);
GAINED
the capacity to experience and express
their reality appropriately (become
self-affirming);
TAKEN
responsibility for themselves and their
shortcomings, consequently being able
to look
outside themselves for help when needed
(become self-accepting).
The
Cornerstone welcomes anyone, regardless of past history, who
seriously wants to
remain clean, sober, functionally happy, and productive
for the rest of his or
her life.
